Newport Hospitality, Inc. a DMC Network Company – COMPANY HISTORY

Founded in 1988, Newport Hospitality was one of the first Destination Management Companies in Rhode Island. After gaining over a decade of experience in catering, hotel sales and marketing, Laurie Stroll joined Newport Hospitality in 1992. The next twelve years were dedicated to planning meetings and special events while building a strong reputation in the industry. Laurie purchased Newport Hospitality in 2004 and has since led the company as its President and owner growing the business to seven full-time employees and a team of part-time staff. A year later in 2005, as a 100% woman owned business, Newport Hospitality received their National Certification as a Women's Business Enterprise after meeting the strict requirements set forth to be certified by the WBENC.

In 2006 Newport Hospitality was selected to become a part of the DMC Network, a worldwide alliance of independently owned Destination Management Companies. In April 2008 Laurie became an equity partner in the new DMC Network, LLC and was also elected to their Board of Managers.

In February 2007, Newport Hospitality was recognized for meeting the ADMC (Accredited Destination Management Company) standards from the ADME Certification and Accreditation Board. This makes Newport Hospitality the first and only accredited DMC in Rhode Island and all of New England. In the first year, Newport Hospitality along with only 23 other DMCs in the country was awarded this prestigious accreditation and has become a Charter ADMC.

Today, Newport Hospitality's professional team combines many years of event experience and creativity in designing, coordinating, and executing events and activities for corporate meetings, conventions, and incentive groups. Focusing on – but not limited to – the Rhode Island region, Newport Hospitality is the best known destination expert with their extensive local knowledge and trusted relationships.
