![]() | Laurie Z. Stroll, CMP, DMCP Laurie Stroll spent twelve years planning events for Newport Hospitality before purchasing the business in 2004. As Newport Hospitality's President and Owner, Laurie devotes her time to growing the business and helping her clients design their ideal programs. Having been on the Board of Directors for RI Hospitality Association for nine years, she became the first and only woman to be the Chairwoman of the Board. Her year was highlighted when she initiated the Women in Hospitality Council for the mentoring of women in the Rhode Island hospitality community. Laurie is well established in the DMC industry as the first and only accredited DMC in Rhode Island. She is also an equity partner in the DMC Network, LLC and takes and active role on the Board of Managers for the DMC Network. In 2005 Laurie's passion for the hospitality industry was widely recognized when she was named RIHA's Woman of the Year. Not only is Laurie active in the DMC Industry and the Rhode Island Hospitality Industry, she is also an active participant on the Board of Directors of the Newport and Bristol County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. She has a diverse background in food service management, catering, hotel sales, and marketing, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. On the rare occasion that she takes a vacation, Laurie loves traveling to new places in tropical locations. |
![]() | Marshall Stroll After many years of being part of Newport Hospitality as "Laurie's husband" Marshall learned the DMC business through "osmosis". When wife Laurie Stroll bought the business in 2004, she was looking for a reliable team member to handle the finances. Marshall jumped in feet first by becoming the Business Manager for the company and quickly became the support system for the Newport Hospitality team, always pitching in wherever needed. Prior to joining Newport Hospitality, Marshall worked at the International Tennis Hall of Fame as their buyer and manager. He also held sales and management positions with Reebok, Circuit City, and Citizen's Bank. A great way to show Marshall your appreciation is to bring him some chocolate chip cookies or Dunkin' Donuts Coffee! |
![]() | Cheryl L. Twiss, CASE Cheryl Twiss came to Newport Hospitality with a strong background in the hospitality industry. After spending thirteen years in Newport as the Senior Sales Manager for the Hyatt Regency, Newport Marriott, and the Hotel Viking, specializing in booking business in the Association market, Cheryl joined Newport Hospitality as the Director of Sales in 2006. From then on, she has become a valued and dedicated member of the hospitality industry, serving for two years as the Chairwoman of Women in Hospitality, supporting local hospitality and tourism committees, and recently taking on various leadership roles in the DMC Network sales effort. Garnering the RI Hospitality and Tourism Association's Woman of the Year award in 2007 is Cheryl's proudest industry achievement to date. When she's not promoting Rhode Island as an amazing New England destination for a group or conference, Cheryl enjoys yoga, farm to table cooking, and power walking. |
![]() | Nadine Mollo Nadine is the newest member of the Newport Hospitality team and is filling a new position as Sales Manager focusing in the Providence market. For the past thirteen years Nadine has held several event planning positions in the Providence area including Assistant Director of Special Events at Johnson and Wales University and Corporate Sales Manager at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Her most recent event planning experience has included opportunities with an event planning company and partnering with the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitor's Bureau on city-wide conventions. With Nadine's vast experience and knowledge of the ever changing "Creative Capital", she brings a new vision and innovative ideas to enhance our offerings of tours, activities and the overall city experience! In her off time, she enjoys cooking for her family and spending time with her husband and children. |
![]() | Carrie A. Brown Since 2002, Carrie Brown has been a dedicated member of the Newport Hospitality team. As a 2000 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Communications, Carrie began in the hospitality industry as Meeting Concierge at the Hyatt Regency Newport. In 2002, she gratefully accepted an entry level position with Newport Hospitality. After years in a variety of roles with Newport Hospitality, Carrie is currently the Director of Programs and considered the backbone of our operations team, bridging the transition of a program from sales to execution. Carrie's focus is on proposal and contract writing, negotiating prices with vendors and mining for new offerings to propose to clients. In addition, she thrives on working with her team of Program Managers and coming up with innovative solutions to any logistical challenge. Outside of work, Carrie values spending time at home with her family and friends, cooking new recipes and relaxing at the beach with her two young sons. |
![]() | Emily R. Ryan Emily Ryan began working with Newport Hospitality in 2009 as the Sales and Marketing Intern, eager to learn as much as she could about the industry. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, where she studied Communications and Public Relations, Emily joined the Newport Hospitality team full time, assisting in managing the year's biggest group. She currently coordinates and executes programs as Newport Hospitality's Program Manager. Outside of the office, you can find her relaxing with a book on Newport's beautiful beaches or staying active with kickboxing and yoga. |
![]() | Déja S. Hart Déja Hart brings a wealth of knowledge to Newport Hospitality as a Program Manager. Originally from the California coast, she has worked as an Executive Chef of a Manhattan Beach restaurant and an Event Coordinator at a Relais Chateaux property. Déja traveled to Rhode Island in 2010 when her husband was offered the Chef de Cuisine position at Castle Hill. She has quickly become an avid New Englander and loves exploring the East coast, hiking, biking, and crab fishing with her husband. Since joining Newport Hospitality in October 2010, Deja continues to provide guidance to support the client's vision, meticulously follows the steps to ensure success and always strives to exceed expectations. |
