Carrie Brown, DMCP | Consultant
Carrie Brown has transitioned from her full time Vice President role at Newport Hospitality to a part time Senior Project Manager assisting with the Volvo Ocean Race project. Since 2002, Carrie Brown has been a dedicated member of the Newport Hospitality team, starting as an entry level coordinator and working her way up through a variety of sales, development and operational positions. In 2011, Carrie received her DMCP (destination management certified professional), demonstrating her commitment to the DMC industry. Prior to joining Newport Hospitality, she graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Communications in 2000 and began her career in the hospitality industry as Meeting Concierge at the Hyatt Regency Newport.
Through years of experience and reinvention, Carrie has attempted to master the difficult task of work-life balance. The solution she finds is in loving what you do, learning from those that you work with and ensuring that your family sees the value in that. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys spending time at home in South County with her family and friends, cheering on her sons’ sports teams, dining out at favorite restaurants and relaxing at the beach.
